MIAR is a system for quantitatively measuring the visibility of social science journals based on their presence in different types of databases. Those responsible for this project do not subscribe to any direct correlation between this value and other qualitative criteria such as the quality of the magazine, which can influence other factors.

Delivery of Third Prize Álvaro Pérez-Ugena to Science Communication to the MIAR project

During the closing session of the Simposio Internacional sobre Política Científica en Comunicación y el 2º Congreso Nacional sobre Metodología de la Investigación, held on Friday, May 3 in Segovia, was presented the 3rd Awards Alvaro Perez de Ugena, granted by American Society of Social communication special projects merit and relevance to the field of communication research.

Manual of good practice in editing scientific journals

Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (Fecyt) has just published a manual of good practice in editing scientific journals. This manual is composed of nine articles written by editors, publishers or journals Spanish heads of recognized quality and prestige in different areas of knowledge. They propose a number of examples of good practices that have been implemented in the publication of scientific journals and their experiences at the forefront of their respective publications, the difficulties that have been faced with over the years who have been leading magazines and industry developments editing scientific journals in our country and around the world.
